How to get here:
From Nan : If you are in the Nan town you can take the red bus in the Nan Bus Station. From Nan to Thung Chang needs about 2 to 3 hours, 70km. These red buses travel every hour during daylight starting from ~6am to 6pm. If you are in the Nan Airport, you can walk (1km) from the airport to the main road and wait for the red bus at the opposite side of the road (to north direction), this means you do not have to go into Nan town (south direstion) again. For some flight which might arrive Nan airport quite late, you have to be fast to catch the last red bus (6pm), otherwise you might have to stay over night in Nan town, and take the red bus on the next day. Please tell your transport driver to drop you at Seven-Eleven shop in Thung Chang. **When you exist the Nan Airport building, that is not the main road yet, you have to go to the right and it takes about 5-10 minutes by walking distance to arrive the main road, ask if you are not sure the about the direction.
From Chiang Mai : about 5~8 hours by own transport, 350km. If you take the “Green Bus” from Arkhid Bus Station to Thung Chang, it will take about 7~9 hours. For public tranport, you have to arrive main bus station in Chiang Rai before 8.30 am to buy the ticket on the spot, the bus will leave Chiang Rai on 9.30a. m. and there is only one trip per day. From Chiang Rai Bus Station, you take the bus (usually you cannot book this ticket in advance) which is heading to Nan, BUT you can drop yourself in Tha Wang Pha (a town which is 1 hour from Nan town), this means you do not have to arrive the center of Nan town. in Tha Wang Pha, you can take the red bus (one trip every hour) north up to Thung Chang. Please tell your transport driver to drop you at Seven-Eleven shop in Thung Chang. Usually our volunteer will arrive by this way before 6p.m.
From Bangkok : About 10-12 hours by bus from Mochit Bus Station, 750km. In Mochit Bus Station, there are 3 bus companies that you can choose, which are 999 transport company, Sombatt tour company, and Chertchai tour company. Sombatt tour and 999 transport company will stop in Bang Chak gas station in Thung Chang, we can pick you there. But for Cherchai company buses you have to inform the driver to drop you at the Seven-Eleven shop, or you can also stop at Cherchai company bus station. There are also domestic flights from “NOK AIR” and “AIR ASIA” available from Bangkok to Nan.
From Laos : 1 hour, 50km. More trips if there is demand (usually Saturdays, when Huay Kon border market is open). Our volunteers like to have their Visa Run here. There are vans from Huay Khon boarder going to Nan direction, you can take these vans and drop at Seven-Eleven shop in Thung Chang.

Some other important detail:
*There are some bus station which write “Thung Chang” as “Tung Chang”, “Tung Cang”, “Thungchang”, or “Thung Cang”, bear in mind that they are the same place with only different spelling.
*Please ask the ticket counter properly that you are heading to Thung Chang(more north than Nan city), not just Nan city. Please double check your bus ticket and make sure that you are dropping at Thung Chang, not Nan city. We have many volunteers who bought the wrong the wrong ticket and ended up dropping themselves at Nan which is still 70km from our farm.
